Your <a href=\"https:\/\/pinnacledental.ca\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pinnacledental.ca\/\">downtown Calgary Dentists<\/a> will prescribe medications that you take the night before your appointment and at the time of your arrival to our office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the use of various oral sedative drugs, we can control anxiety levels and perform all necessary dental procedures.&nbsp; Some sedative drugs will even allow you to \u201csleep\u201d through the procedure and have little or no memory of the visit whatsoever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sedation can be achieved through the use of nitrous oxide or \u201claughing gas\u201d which provides a light level of sedation or the use of pills such as Valium (Lorazepam) or Halcion (Triazolam), which can be titrated to achieve deeper levels of sedation.&nbsp; Our team will monitor your progress the entire appointment to make sure you are safe, comfortable and aware of the procedures being performed. Most patients will experience little to no discomfort during their appointment and often have little memory of being in the dental chair. Patients with more complex treatment plans can have the majority of their dental work completed in as little as one visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With any sedation, we require the patient to be driven to and from our office by a responsible third party member who will be able to stay with you for at least 4 hours after your appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware that a local anaesthetic will still need to be administered to temporary block nerve impulses from the teeth.
